Percent daily Values are based on a 2,000 calorie diet. That says that in average, an adult daily needs 2,000 calories value to maintain the body energy need. But it also the label usually with these words: Your daily values may be higher or lower depending on your calorie needs. Well, this is an ambiguous to tell how high or how low. People needs are different according to age, sex, weight, height and activity. Our tool help you quantify how high or how low. Our tool uses BMR or Basal metabolic rate to calculate. Formula based on Mifflin, ST St Jeor research in 1990 which is 5% more accurate than equation by Harris-Benedict equation in a survey in 2005. Also reference to Basal metabolic rate in Wikipedia
The BMR data is for referenc only to monitor your daily food intake. Other factors also influence the calory needs. Our daily calorie need tool calculate your daily need according to your age, sex, activity height and weight. Activity is grouped as follows:
* Sedentary: Little or no exercise and desk job
* Lightly Active: Light exercise or sports 1-3 days a week
* Moderately Active: Moderate exercise or sports 3-5 days a week
* Very Active: Hard exercise or sports 6-7 days a week4
* Extremely Active: Hard daily exercise or sports and physical job
