You don’t have to be a doctor to calculate it and estimate it! Our tool helps you to calculate it. In our tool page, we have a tool to calculate how much calories burnt in an activity. First, you select a category in a dropdown list, then select an activity. After that enter your body weight, press Enter or Go button, the result will be displayed below. Suppose that a person is 168 pounds. To answer the title question, you need to select category: sports and activity: tai chi, enter your weight. If you enter in pounds, it will automatically convert to kilogram. After you press Go button, the following result displays:
Based on your weight and physical activity,
Calories consumed per minute: 5.08
Oxygen liters consumed per minute: 1.07
You just need to time duration to get the result. If you did tai chi 30 minutes, calories burnt will be: 5.08 X 30 = 152 and oxygen: 1.07 X 30=32.1.
We have a tip below the select activity dropdown list which tells you MET which appears in every activity. When you click the tip, it shows a box and with these sentences:
1 MET = the energy (oxygen) used by the body as you sit quietly, perhaps while talking on the phone or reading a book. The harder your body works during the activity, the higher the MET. …
You may play yourself to have a fun there!
Some users feedback that if one is not familiar with category, it is a bit hard to find the sports they want to check. Also if one could search by typing sports, that will be great! Well, we enhanced the section by adding search functionality. Now a user could type sports or exercise name to search. After that, one could click the sports in the result and enter weight, the result will display as by using dropdown methor.
